We had a fabulous time with our guide, Jonathon. The food was tasty and fresh and the markets were vibrant. The fish market was very interesting and the fruit and vegetable markets were colourful. The three dishes we tasted were very fresh, delicious and substantial. Barranco was a delightful part of Lima, with wonderful architecture and street art. The tour was at a good pace - we didn’t feel rushed. Jonathon was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a wonderful way to spend time in Lima.

A must when visiting Lima. It completes the experience as you get to see local life and to taste a delicious ceviche in a local market or great desserts from everyday life.

Excellent tour. Good pre-tour communication and the driver was right on time. Went to several markets to see local produce and see how people live in Lima. Visited a number of kiosks and food stands to sample various kinds of local fare, all outstanding. The ceviche was especially noteworthy. Everything was very clean and we had no ill effects from eating foreign food. Visited a number of attractive neighborhoods on the south side of Lima that were a nice change from the gritty downtown.

Our guide, Alvaro, took us to a number of interesting sites that we were not expecting. We started of at a vibrant marketplace where we sampled some delicious ceviche and causal. Then Alvaro agreed to take us jewellery shopping, acting as a translator with the vendors. After that we drove across town (great driving by Jimmy) to a fish market in Chorillos. William was our guide and Johnny was our driver. They were both spectacular. We had 4 in our group and were treated very well . From the Fish market to the Mercado to the restaurant over the sea we learned so much and ate so well. Peruvian cuisine is excellent!! The views were amazing also. Additionally, you need to know that William is VERY knowledgeable about the history and culture of Peru as well as other countries. He was a joy! take his tour!
