+7 photosThe wine and cheese experience was effectively 2 separate events. Firstly we sampled some lovely but cheeses from the Azores with a glass of wine. This was followed by an interesting tour of Blandys followed by Madeira wine tasting. Very nice 🙂.
Is a very informative tour through the blandys building. Ended with a tasting tour guide was great very knowledgeable. It was then a short walk to the cheese shop. The owner was wonderful. We had a great time easy tour to do as it takes only about two hours.
The wine and cheese tasting was fantastic. The tasting and tour started at Blandys with a tour of their museum which included a lot of information about the history of the company, how they make their wine and what makes Madeira wine special. We then had a wine tasting where the guide talked us through tasting the three different wines and about the flavours we could taste. Interesting visit, good products, dedicated and educational people.
Informative interesting great knowledge by the guide. Not enough time to really experience the museum. Guide kept looking at her watch so she was obviously under pressure to get us to the tasting part. Generous measurements of 3 different types of Madeira wines. We did the cheese tasting at another venue which was included in the ticket price which was very nice. A little more info would have been helpful to try and find this place.
