Experience Details

Step into the energy of Shinjuku, one of Tokyo’s most electric neighborhoods, and explore the side of the city that locals love. Known for its neon-lit streets, narrow alleyways, and countless eateries, Shinjuku can feel overwhelming without guidance, which is why this tour makes discovering it easy, comfortable, and delicious.

Your night begins in Shinjuku-nishiguchi, where a local guide leads the way into Omoide Yokocho, also known as “Memory Lane,” a nostalgic alley filled with tiny yakitori stalls, ramen shops, and old-school izakayas (Japanese pubs). Here, you’ll enjoy your food and drinks while enjoying the area's lively atmosphere.

From there, stroll into Kabukicho, Japan’s largest entertainment district and home to one of Shinjuku’s most iconic sights, a 12-meter-tall Godzilla head towering above the neighborhood. As you walk through its bright streets and cultural landmarks, your guide shares stories about the area’s history, growth, and local dining culture.

You’ll stop at another neighborhood restaurant for more dishes and drinks tailored to your preferences, with help ordering and translating menus throughout the night.

The final stop brings you to Golden Gai, a maze of narrow lanes packed with pocket-sized bars, each filled with its own personality. Some glow softly with lantern light, others pulse with music, and all seem to have years of stories behind them. Step inside one of these cozy bars for a final drink and a glimpse of Shinjuku’s retro nightlife charm.

Across three carefully selected spots, enjoy four plates of food and seven drinks, trying everything from classic izakaya favorites to regional specialties. Along the way, your guide helps break language barriers, recommends local dishes, and leads you through Shinjuku’s most memorable corners.

Perfect for anyone curious about Tokyo after dark, this tour offers a fun, flavorful introduction to the bars, eateries, and backstreets that make Shinjuku unique.
