Experience Details
Experience the ultimate form of hospitality in Japan! Choose to wear either a casual kimono or a traditional kimono during this Tea Ceremony and Kimono Experience in Ginza. You will feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city as you step into the tea house filled with small Japanese doors and traditional tatami mats. Located on the 5th floor of a building in Tokyo’s bustling Ginza area, you can experience Japanese culture firsthand as you wear kimonos and participate in a humble tea ceremony.
You will meet your instructor at a local kimono shop to choose your favorite kimono. You will be assisted in dressing in your beautiful kimono, and a hairstylist can be arranged as well to complete the look. Your personal clothes will be stored at the kimono shop. Wearing your very own traditional Japanese kimono, you will wander through the streets of Ginza to the tea house.
After a brief lecture introducing the art of the Japanese tea ceremony, you will learn how to prepare matcha green tea including how to grind it with a mill stone. This will be followed by a peaceful tea ceremony demonstration, where you can enjoy accompanying traditional Japanese wagashi sweets. You will have the opportunity to prepare the matcha yourself, before heading back to return your rented kimono.
