About an hour north of Hiroshima City by car lies Miyoshi, a charming town rich in history that, while beloved by locals, remains largely untouched by tourists. In this immersive experience, your host will take you from Hiroshima Station to the serene streets of Miyoshi for a truly authentic Japanese cultural journey.
Indulge your senses in a tea ceremony, held in the tatami room of a 200-year-old historic site, where you’ll experience Japan’s tea culture in its purest form. Afterward, enjoy a flavorful yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) lunch paired with wines from the acclaimed Miyoshi Winery, a renowned winery that has won both domestic and international awards. In fact, its wines were even served at the reception for the G7 Hiroshima Summit in 2023—an impressive testament to their exceptional quality. Conclude the experience with a relaxing wine tasting at the winery before returning to Hiroshima Station by car.
Apart from the tea experience and winery escapade, you’ll have the opportunity to shop for traditional Japanese sweets at a local shop, before heading to Umpekikyo, a historic site over two centuries old. Here, you’ll be greeted with the beauty of the traditional tatami room and its serene garden, where you’ll partake in a peaceful tea ceremony.
Next, savor a delectable yakiniku lunch at Miyoshi Winery, complemented by wines selected to enhance the flavors of your meal. Following lunch, take a guided tour of the winery, learn about its award-winning wines, and enjoy a wine tasting session, rounding off your visit with a chance to shop for your favorite bottle.
