Lovely, intimate sushi spot where I had dinner on my second night in Kyoto. The courses were delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was so kind. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories that I will take back to NYC 🩷

Wonderful gardens that should be explored during daytime or early evening, so come half an hour before your meal time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was outstanding with service by kimono dressed ladies. You feel you have gone back in time to a bygone era. We prepaid for a set menu, and I think this could have been better explained so details of your course can be viewed. We had a set course but no idea of what ne were going to eat. Otherwise service was impeccable and their experience was outstanding. This is a must experience for any Kyoto visit

We had a lovely evening with Taisho Nakatani and Mrs. Nakatani. My wife and I were lucky enough to have a private seating as the only guests for our anniversary. The intamite setting allowed us to learn about the couple’s relationship, they are a very cute and humorous husband-wife duo running the show. Watching Nakatani-san’s precision and execution was a unique The courses Were a work of art And tasted delicious also. Afterwards Mrs. Nakatani went above and beyond by escorting us through the rainy Osaka streets to a local taiyakishop and purchased us far too many taiyaki for dessert. My wife really loved our evening at Sushidokoro Nakatani, and that means everything to me. 10/10, we will be back next time we are in Osaka

One of the most mesmerizing meals of my life, i cant put it into words, it will be hard to top this experience, (I would have preferred to have something sweet at the end, that’s my only “complaint”).

Food was very good and service always kept everything filled. Moving but not too rushed. Just be sure of the pricing for any add-ons or extras as we asked and the server did not elaborate or fully explain the pricing when asked to show how much per piece. 2 pieces extra per person for 2 people (chutoro and uni), a bottle of water and two cups of house recommended tea ended up 14,000 yen. Overall would go again though it does seem very tourist centered and cater mostly to visitors now.

Amazing experience! The sake pairing goes very well with the courses and the food tasted excellent! Would definitely do it again!

We had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. It’s worth every penny. The chefs discipline and mastery is impressive and the quality of the food and its preparation is in-maculate. His wife is also amazing. We ended up having a great conversation with them about our home country in Costa Rica and we even took some pictures together. Loved the experience, venue and of course the food. Will recommend it a thousand times times!

We had an absolutely amazing time here. Every dish was superb, we were offered to try local delicacies and offered to opt out if things felt too adventurous (although we didn’t). Chef explained every course perfectly in English and made us smile all throughout. We have never experienced anything as amazing as this and I was in absolute awe watching each dish made up in front of us. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!!
