The teachers were very nice and open to questions. They took the time to explain the different ingredients and spices. The atmosphere was very relaxed and cozy.

My friend and I LOVED this cooking class. It was our 2nd/3rd time to Kyoto so adding in cooking classes was a great, unique experience since we didn't have all the temples and bamboo forest on the agenda for this visit. Their English is FANTASTIC so really easy to understand and follow along. They prepare a lot of the measuring and things so you really focus on the cooking part of it and you can get to eat your creations throughout. You also walk away with all the recipes and you can even buy some of the Japanese specific cooking supplies there if you need (grating plate, sesame grinding bowl, etc.) Everything was delicious and I am excited to replicate these recipes at home and maybe turn them into my lunch bentos for work! Definitely add this to your trip itinerary! I would totally take it again if the menu changed over time.

So amazing! We made like 7 things and it was tasty and well taught. Also they fully and safely accommodated a peanut allergy so we ate our fill and did not have to worry!

Very professionally organized- in a short amount of time we were able to cook 6 different dishes that turned out great! The two chefs were very friendly, attentive and super knowledgeable. I asked many questions about ingredients and things I’ve seen here in grocery stores that I didn’t understand and both were very patient in explaining. The food was delicious and I’m sure due to their careful explanations and recipes I could replicate them at home now :-)

This afternoon class was well worth it. We had a really good time, the best part was eating the results at the end (at about 5PM which was good, essentially an early dinner). We only had 6 people in our class so there was lots of time for the cooks to take use through each dish. They were excellent and quite chatty. We did it in July which is very hot so the class made for a good alternative to the usual outdoor sightseeing and visit attractions. We learned the basics of Japanese cooking and they also had recipes to take home as well.
