Restaurant Tsukimichi
A hidden sanctuary of "Ura-Omotenashi" in Nishinakasu of Fukuoka, where quiet hospitality and soulful cuisine offer a true retreat for the spirit.
Restaurant Details
Tucked away in the quiet streets of Nishinakasu, Tsukimichi is a long-established retreat dedicated to a gentler form of hospitality. Here, there are no grand performances or lavish displays — only a simple, heartfelt wish: “To gently and wholeheartedly heal those who have given their all.”
Born from the desire to serve just one meaningful bowl of miso soup, Tsukimichi honors the spirit of Ura-Omotenashi — a quiet, tender form of care that embodies the heart without seeking attention.
Through comforting dishes like oden and miso soup, Tsukimichi nourishes not only the body but also the spirit. The experience is guided by five timeless virtues: Invisible Kindness, Natural Elegance, Once-in-a-Lifetime Encounters, the Aesthetics of Wabi-Sabi, and Sacred Boundaries. Each moment flows naturally and unobtrusively, creating a serene atmosphere where warmth and presence are felt in every detail.
Guests are welcomed into fully private rooms or counter seats, if dining solo, where they are cared for with the delicate attentiveness of personal assistants, allowing them to relax and return to their most authentic selves.
Usually reserved exclusively for members, Tsukimichi now opens its doors to a limited number of guests through byFood, offering a rare opportunity to experience the quiet world of Ura-Omotenashi.
