Amazing tour! So much fun for our group of 14. We had 4 teens and 3 young kiddos on our tour and they totally helped and accommodated everything for us. The food, the history, culture and the experience was just phenomenal. So many special little treats along the way that customized it for our group. From learning our names to helping us enjoy the temple. So worth it and couldn't have been happier!

We had a wonderful experience with Michie who spoke fluent English and was very knowledgeable of the area and food. Our daughter is Coeliac and Michie made sure she was able to have gluten free safe options. Would recommend to anyone with dietary restrictions.

Explore the World of Matcha on a 1-Day Tour in Tokyo

If you're a matcha lover visiting Tokyo, there's no better way to experience the city's vibrant tea culture than through a dedicated 1-day tour. Tokyo, a city that seamlessly blends the traditional with the modern, offers a myriad of opportunities for you to explore and savor the distinct flavors of matcha, a finely milled green tea powder revered in Japan for its rich taste and health benefits. These 1-day tours are carefully curated to immerse you in the history, production, and enjoyment of matcha, allowing you to appreciate this beloved Japanese tradition deeply.

Discover Traditional Tea Houses and Modern Cafés

On these 1-day matcha tours, you will visit both traditional tea houses and contemporary cafés that offer unique takes on matcha beverages and snacks. Step into a serene tea house, where you might find yourself participating in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. These ceremonies are a perfect showcase of Japanese hospitality and provide a tranquil setting to enjoy matcha in its purest form. As you savor the robust flavor of matcha, you'll learn about the careful preparation that goes into every cup, from the meticulous whisking of the tea powder with water to create that silky smooth texture.

In contrast, a visit to a modern café in Tokyo will reveal innovative uses of matcha in contemporary cuisine. From matcha-flavored lattes, parfaits, to baked goods like cookies and cakes, these cafés present matcha in playful and inventive ways, appealing to both traditionalists and those with a penchant for modern artistry in their drinks and desserts.

Experience the Art of Matcha Making and Shopping

No matcha tour in Tokyo would be complete without an opportunity to learn the art of matcha making. Many tours offer hands-on experiences where you can try your hand at making your own matcha beverages under the guidance of expert instructors. This engaging activity not only teaches you the proper techniques for whisking matcha but also gives you insights into the origins and variations of matcha powders, each with distinct colors and flavors.

For souvenir shopping, these tours often include visits to specialty tea shops where you can purchase authentic matcha powders and accessories. These shops offer a range of matcha products that toe the line between traditional and modern, allowing you to take a piece of your matcha journey home. Whether you’re buying for yourself or as gifts for loved ones, these items will serve as a delightful reminder of your immersive matcha experience in Tokyo.

In summary, a 1-day matcha tour in Tokyo offers a comprehensive and delightful dive into the world of Japanese green tea. Whether you're a seasoned matcha enthusiast or a curious newcomer, these tours are sure to enrich your understanding and appreciation of this esteemed Japanese staple.
