I never realized how much better sushi could be until I witnessed this master at work. Down to earth and happy to chat with customers, the chef and his crew provided an amazing dining experience, with every morsel even better than the last. Be sure to ask for the otoro when they ask if you would like anything else before dessert!

This was the best meal we had in Kyoto! Every course was a piece of art. Watching the chef work was mesmerizing. The attention to the detail is superb. The chef and his team were very engaging and made the whole experience really fun.

We had an incredible experience at Sushi Rakumi. The chef and sous chefs were very talented and nice! Though there was a little bit of a language barrier, we loved the atmosphere - everyone was enjoying themselves and there was lots of smiles and laughter. The meal was skillfully and artfully crafted; absolutely spectacular. We would love to come back on our next visit to Japan!
