Experience Details
This tour begins at the main gate of Tsukiji Hongwanji temple, one of the largest temples in Tokyo. The temple's exterior is modeled after ancient Buddhist temples from India and other countries in Southern Asia, something rarely seen in Japanese temples. Tsukiji Market opened in 1935 and was the world's largest wholesale fish market until recently. It's easy to see why Tsukiji Market is globally known, with over 360 establishments, including spice shops, market stalls with open grills, seafood wholesalers, restaurants that serve freshly caught fish, and other businesses. During the tour, a guide will show you around Tsukiji Market, explaining and teaching about the inner workings of this excellent fish market. You will also have the opportunity to buy and try a variety of the food products that Tsukiji Market has to offer. Seven food-related items are included on this tour, which will give you a wide range of popular Japanese flavors to try. Some popular foods included in this tour are sushi, charcoal-grilled seafood, wagyu beef skewers, grilled chicken skewers, Japanese omelet rice, hot pot, traditional Japanese sweets, and ice cream. Experience the everyday hustle and bustle of Tsukiji Market while sampling an assortment of foods and learning about the market's formation and history from a nationally certified expert guide.
