Experience Details
Tsukiji Fish Market was once the largest wholesale market in the world, bustling with buyers, sellers, scooters, and trucks.
While the wholesale market moved to Toyosu in 2018, the Tsukiji Outer Market remains a vibrant hub of sights, smells, and flavors. This street food paradise is the perfect place to sample some of the freshest sushi in Japan, with fish delivered daily from Toyosu Market.
During this 4-hour Tsukiji Fish Market and Sushi Making Tour, you’ll explore the Outer Market with a local guide, discovering Japanese food culture and tasting iconic ingredients like green tea, bonito flakes, and other traditional snacks.
After your market tour, a professional sushi chef will teach you how to make your own sushi from scratch. You’ll learn sushi-making techniques, preparation tips, and stories about Tsukiji’s history, while enjoying the delicious dishes you create.
Please note that the inner auction area of Tsukiji Fish Market closed in 2018. Hence, the tuna auction is no longer open to visitors. The Outer Market, however, remains home to shops and vendors that have been selling sushi and street food for decades, some with histories spanning over 100 years.

Experience Location
The early-morning bustle and the spectacle of seeing whole fish expertly carved right before your eyes, combined with an array of local delicacies, make Tsukiji Market a must-visit in Tokyo. While the Tsukiji Fish Market’s auction was relocated to Toyosu in October 2018, many of Tsukiji Outer Market’s street vendors and restaurants remained. Some shops and restaurants have been in business for over 100 years! And since the seafood sold at Tsukiji Market is delivered directly from Toyosu Fish Market, Tsukiji Market is still one of the best places in Tokyo for fresh seafood.
