Cusco Specialty Coffee Laboratory Workshop

Join us for a comprehensive 2.5-hour hands-on workshop that covers everything from brewing to roasting. You'll start with a guided tour of state-of-the-art laboratory, viewing the roasting setup, espresso bars, and coffee testing equipment, all while sipping a pre-brewed V60 coffee. Next, you will dive into the science of filtered coffee. After a demonstration of the V60 brewing process, you will head to your own station to brew. You'll follow a precise recipe card—warming the kettle to 86°C, grinding exactly 15g of coffee, and executing a multi-stage pour—before tasting and evaluating the results with the group. Then, you'll master the espresso machine. You'll learn how to dose, distribute with a WDT tool, tamp firmly, and pull the perfect shot. We'll also cover milk texturing, teaching you how to purge the steam wand and create glossy microfoam to build your own cappuccinos or flat whites. Finally, you will join Roast Master for a live batch roast to learn the fundamentals of the roasting process. At the end of the session, you'll get to take home 160 grams of the freshly roasted coffee!
