What You’ll Experience

During this gastronomic experience in San Cristobal de Las Casas, travelers will participate in a practical workshop where they will know the process of making artisan bread and the traditional preparation of pot coffee. The activity begins with a brief welcome and introduction to the tradition of bread and coffee in Chiapas. Participants will then receive the materials needed to make their own artisan bread, learning the basic process of preparing, kneading and explaining ingredients. While the bread is being prepared, the pot coffee experience will take place, where travelers will know the traditional ingredients such as Chiapas coffee, cinnamon and piloncillo, as well as the form of preparation that gives it its characteristic aroma and flavor. At the end, participants will enjoy a tasting of the brewed bread accompanied by pot coffee, in a warm, cultural and authentic atmosphere. It is an ideal experience for families, groups, cultural travelers and people interested in local cuisine.
