Discover the ultimate sake in Kobe's Nada district, Japan's top sake-producing region. Here, history, quality rice, pristine water, and favorable weather fuse into sake perfection. Characterized by its crisp, dry taste, Nada’s sake is a testament to some of the best brewing imaginable.
Roam the 1.5 kilometer expanse of shops and try over 12 varieties of sake with your expert guide in just 3.5 hours. Your guide will share insights into sake’s history, customs, and brewing techniques as you explore the best brews along the Nada stretch.
Dive into the world of sake-making, beginning at one of the oldest breweries in the region. The Cherry Blossom Icon Brewery is renowned not only for its traditional flavors, but also for its ability to evolve with the changing tastes of Japan. Here, you'll have the chance to taste genuine, authentic Japanese sake.
Next, step into a traditional kakuuchi bar, where you're welcomed into the deep world of Nada sake. Experience the authentic way locals enjoy sake: standing inside a liquor store with a glass in hand. In a hidden tasting space run by a passionate sake-loving owner, you’ll sample a carefully curated selection of his personal favorites.
Then, see the “live” sake-making process from the second-floor observation deck. An 80-year-old sake master welcomes you to the ginjo sake factory, where you can taste fresh, unpasteurized sake and yuzu sake.
Finally, visit a brewery known for preserving the traditional kimoto method of sake-making. This time-honored technique relies on natural yeast and careful manual labor, resulting in a rich, complex flavor. Explore the on-site museum with beautifully preserved wooden brewing tools, and learn more about the craftsmanship behind each bottle. Finish by tasting artisan sake in front of a charming Japanese garden.
Immerse yourself in history, brewing, customs, and snacks with an expert guide by your side!
