Beyond temples and shrines, the city is also home to one of Japan’s most celebrated brewing traditions.


Explore the historic Fushimi sake district and taste a variety of Japanese sake with an expert guide.


Stroll through quiet streets lined with breweries and learn why this area has been a center of sake production for centuries.


Kyoto served as Japan’s imperial capital for more than 1,200 years, and sake has long played a role in its cultural life.


On this private tour, travel by train to visit two breweries with distinct brewing approaches. One is a traditional brewery with more than 300 years of history. The other is a modern craft-style brewery in central Kyoto.


Step inside an operating brewery and see the brewing process up close. This rare behind-the-scenes visit offers a deeper look at the techniques and craftsmanship that shape each bottle of sake.


Along the way, taste a variety of sake styles, from dry and fruity to cloudy varieties and plum wine. As you sample, learn how sake is brewed and what makes Kyoto’s brewing culture unique.


The experience is led by a licensed guide with professional sake expertise, who will share insights to help you better understand and enjoy Japan’s iconic drink.
