Experience Details
Ready to roll like a sushi pro in Kyoto? Meet Yone, Hide, and Yutaka, three expert sushi chefs eager to share their love for sushi-making. Kyoto is known for its distinctive style of sushi, which highlights seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The chefs begin their day at Kyoto Central Wholesale Market, where they select the freshest fish to ensure top-quality ingredients for your class.
With over 10 years of experience, these chefs will guide you through the art of making perfect nigiri and rolls. English-speaking and patient, they make the class easy to follow, whether you’re a sushi beginner or already familiar with nigiri. This group class is 90 minutes long and gives you hands-on experience in a relaxed, friendly environment.
You’ll learn the secrets of traditional Japanese Nigiri Sushi, Gunkan Sushi, and Hosomaki (Maki rolls made with nori and a bamboo mat). The chefs will explain each step in detail, and then you’ll have the opportunity to create six pieces of nigiri and two types of maki rolls. You can choose between regular and premium fish, along with a variety of toppings, to create a complete sushi meal. Once your sushi is ready, you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labor and savor your own handmade creations.
