Experience Details

Discover the art of Japanese sweets in a cozy Osaka home.

Your host, Maya, born in Canada and raised in Osaka, combines local know-how with hospitality skills from Walt Disney World. Along with her family, she offers a relaxed, English-friendly experience that makes every guest feel at home.

This isn’t just a cooking class; it’s a chance to perfect Japanese sweets, share stories about life in Osaka, and discover its hidden gems.

Guests make fruit daifuku, wrapping seasonal fruits in soft, pillowy mochi for a modern, colorful treat. Learn to create warabimochi, a chilled, jelly-like dessert coated in nutty kinako flour.

Bake fluffy dorayaki pancakes filled with sweet red bean paste. Finally, whisk your own bowl of premium matcha with a traditional bamboo whisk and enjoy it with your creations.

After cooking, sit down to savor the handmade sweets paired with the gentle bitterness of matcha. It is a calm, satisfying moment to relax, chat, and soak in the cozy atmosphere of a local home.

Guests walk away with hands-on skills, a printed recipe to try at home, and a deeper love for Japanese home-style desserts.

It’s both a learning experience and a taste of Osaka’s food culture.
