Experience Details
Ah, ramen. It’s the noodle dish of Japan that’s been around for over a hundred years and keeps getting better. It’s the ultimate comfort food for Japanese people, also adored by visitors. Take comfort in the hot, savory broth, and let the thick, chewy noodles tickle your tongue, perfectly matched with meat and vegetable toppings that tease and please your palette. You can find it almost everywhere: accessible, convenient, and delicious. But with so many options and such little time, how to find the perfect bowl?
In this tour, local ramen expert Hiroshi will guide you to some of the best ramen shops in Tokyo. Born in Kitakata (one of the top three ramen cities in Japan) into a family that has been in the ramen-making business for generations, Hiroshi knew that he would never spend a day without a warm bowl of noodles. Having visited hundreds of eateries all over the country, he created a map app in English called "Ramen Beast" to help fellow ramen lovers find the best shops and restaurants. Today, he works on several ramen-related ventures: for instance, when Soba House Konjiki-Hototogisu (the third restaurant in the world to be awarded a Michelin star) opened their first restaurant outside of Japan, Hiroshi served as an interpreter and trained their staff.
Cool and friendly, Hiroshi will not just guide you on the quest for the best ramen in Tokyo, but also impart a few tips and trivia about Japan’s famous bowl of noodles. In this ramen tour in Tokyo, you will visit two ramen shops – one in which you’ll eat a thick, rich bowl of ramen, and one where you can try a lighter style.
The great thing about this tour is that you can customize it according to your taste and special requests. Hiroshi will meet you at your location of choice, and pick the best ramen restaurants in the area. Follow your heart in this fun and exciting personalized ramen tour in Tokyo (which is also great for groups).
