Join a 3.5-hour walking tour to explore the town's history and culinary delights, including tastings of Balsamic vinegar, Lambrusco wine, and Parmigiano Reggiano. This city, rich in Roman history and significant to Italy’s unification, is known for its inclusivity, greenery, and gastronomic offerings.

The tour includes tastings of balsamic vinegar with Parmigiano Reggiano, local wine, cured meats, cheeses, and a savoury pie. From February to November, enjoy a complimentary cup of craft gelato.

Please wear comfortable shoes for this 3.5 km (5.6 miles) walking tour, which is also family-friendly.

Reggio Emilia is famous for its gelato, and local craftspeople have received important awards for their work. You should try the “Giovanna,” our city's iconic flavor. It is a “semifreddo,” which is a mix of gelato and dessert, made with hazelnut nougat. Enjoy the Italian “dolce vita” by eating your gelato in the shade of the obelisk in Piazza Gioberti, facing the Ducal Palace.

Basilica della Madonna della Ghiara

Believe it or not, this street was once where the river Crostolo flowed, and it is also where the Ghiara Basilica was built to honor a miracle that occurred at this spot. We will also introduce the "Fotografia Europa" photo festival, which is hosted by the Palazzo Magnani Foundation every spring.
