Step into Shinjuku after dark and slip into a Tokyo filled with lantern lights, the sound of grills, and easy late-night chatter. Your host will take you through neighborhood izakaya, tachinomiya standing bars, and yakitori spots; places where locals stop in for a drink and a bite on their way home. It’s a simple, open look at how people unwind in this part of the city.
Enjoy freshly grilled dishes with sake, beer, or other drinks as you settle into the rhythm of the night.
From there, you’ll wander into Kabukicho, where bright signs and busy streets show another side of Tokyo after hours.
Then, you’ll visit a retro drinking district dating back to the 1940s. Narrow lanes house more than 200 tiny bars, each with its own character and charm. You’ll stop by one or two for additional drinks and an up-close look at this uniquely Shinjuku neighborhood.
By the end of the tour, you’ll have a deeper feel for local drinking traditions—and plenty of inspiration to continue exploring at your own pace.

It’s also home to the Golden District, which consists of the tiny bars in the Golden Gai, the intimate local drinking holes in Omoide Yokocho, and the razzle-dazzle of Shinjuku’s red light district, Kabukicho.
