Sushi is an integral part of Japan's culinary legacy. Here, chefs hone their craft over a lifetime. Every step has an impact on the final bite, from fish quality to the thickness of each slice and the shaping of the rice.


In this sushi-making class in Tokyo, learn firsthand about this process from a former professional sushi chef who will guide you through crafting a selection of sushi pieces.


The class takes place in the stylish area of Nishiazabu, known for its elegant dining options. You’ll visit a premium studio to learn to make sushi from a top sushi chef with experience working at high-end restaurants, some of which even have earned Michelin stars.


With the help of an English-speaking guide, you’ll follow the sushi master’s every step. You'll also learn about the history of sushi and the origins of the traditional techniques used to make it through interactive quizzes.


Then, during the hands-on sushi-making session, you'll practice making nigiri, sushi rolls and gunkan sushi following the demonstration by the chef. Using fresh premium ingredients like salmon, shrimp and scallops, you'll craft an assortment of sushi pieces worthy of being served at any sushi restaurant in Tokyo.


You’ll take commemorative photos of yourself and the dishes before sitting down to savor every bite of the delicious meal with your friendly hosts.
