During this experience, dive deeper into the world of tempura under Chef Shimura’s expert guidance. Learn traditional techniques and precise cuts that bring out the unique flavors of every ingredient in the form of light, crispy tempura. The batter and oil type and temperature all play a crucial role. Chef Shimura walks you through his entire process; there are no secrets here! He is happy to share his knowledge and philosophy with new and experienced home cooks. Chef Koichiro Shimura is a celebrated chef. He took over Tempura Ono in 2006 and has since been frying tempura “from the heart.” His carefully curated menus feature ingredients from all over Japan and are inspired by global food trends. Chef Shimura leaves nothing to chance. The ingredients served at Tempura Ono, from shrimp and mushrooms to flour and salt, are selected with only one goal in mind: to provide customers with a tempura experience they’ll remember forever.
