Captain’s Bar (Hilton Tokyo Odaiba)
A drama unfolds in the opulent European-style setting of Captain’s Bar at the glamorous Hilton Tokyo Odaiba. Enjoy fresh fruit cocktails and rare Japanese whisky in one venue.
Restaurant Details
A ship captain returning from a long day at sea, looking for a refuge to muse on the day’s events over a drink — such is the atmosphere of Captain’s Bar at Hilton Tokyo Odaiba.
Romantic, sultry and intimate, the speakeasy is washed beautifully with dark wood finishes and mid-century tones. The sounds of muted conversations and the tinkle of ice in glass prompt guests to relax against the sea-green Emerald Pearl granite bar countertop. The space is kept windowless for a reason: to keep the mood sultry and in line with the nautical theme. To walk into Captain’s Bar is not to be on the second floor of Tokyo’s glamorous hotel, but in a cabin on an ocean liner.
There is a winding list of drops and spirits to select from. Along with champagne and beer, Captain’s Bar proudly stocks over 80 varieties of hard liquor, including Japanese craft gin. More than 30 gins fill the back bar alone, mostly from Japanese distilleries like Kyoto Dry Gin or the Toranomon Distillery’s spirit purified from 48 botanicals. Yet it’s the collection of rare and world-famous Japanese single malt whisky, from Yamazaki to Taketsuru, that keeps customers coming back to relish each sip.
Located on Odaiba, Tokyo’s manmade island and entertainment mecca, Captain’s Bar is ideal for couples and solo diners eager for a secret getaway from the hustle and bustle of urban life. For food, it’s all nibbles designed to whet the appetite without overshadowing the drinks (tip: don’t come on an empty stomach): small plates like tapas, mixed nuts, and sausages. Chic cocktails up the ante while the right music dials up the vibe.
