Location
One of the most coveted restaurants among the gourmets of Kyoto, this exclusive kaiseki spot should be on every foodie’s checklist.
Restaurant Details
Only two sittings per day are taken at this ultra-exclusive kaiseki restaurant in Kyoto, on a hill near Shoden-ji Temple. For those lucky enough to step over the threshold, an evening to remember awaits. The first thing they notice is the view: a beautiful panorama of the city, with hills in the distance.
After being seated, guests are treated to an omakase-only kaiseki meal, featuring some top-class sushi using Kyoto-style rice — a speciality of the chef. Also featured are a vast range of seasonal dishes with a plethora of cooking styles. Expect charcoal-grilled meats, delicious soups, fresh vegetables, and much more.
Counter and private rooms are available, the latter with the nicest view through its long window. Fukiage may be a little further from downtown than its rivals, but that’s really no problem at all. You won’t grudge making the short trip if you’re lucky enough to secure a spot at this — one of the most in-demand restaurants in the city.
