Restaurant Details
This restaurant located near Shirokanedai Station is surely a contender for most picturesque restaurant in Tokyo, with extensive green space on its grounds that can be enjoyed from elegant private rooms of many sizes. Since 1955, this stunning building has been a restaurant, previously the home of a wealthy businessman.
The current name was graced upon it by the Japanese literary great, and author of Silence, Shusaku Endo in 1994. He was so impressed by the beautiful atmospheric setting that he declared it heaven on earth, and so the name remains to this day.
The seasonal set-course menus feature traditional dishes which explore contemporary Japanese tastes. These kaiseki courses are made with seasonal dishes prepared in a range of traditional styles, all presented on the plate with delicate aesthetics.
Interestingly, they also offer a fully halal kaiseki menu which includes halal certified beef. This is suitable for Muslim diners, and must be requested in advance.
