Restaurant Details
Experience Japanese culture at this famous sushi restaurant — from the clean facade of the traditional Kyoto decor to the course dishes. Sushi Nakamura promises an experience that will feel like traveling back in time to the Edo period. Chef Masanori Nakamura is completely self-taught, meaning he acquired his Michelin star in 2020 by just the sweat of his brow, a fact which has won him many admirers. Using the most authentic Edomae methods of sushi-making, Nakamura applies these techniques to ingredients that he meticulously picks out. His Koshihikari rice from Tochio is steamed in a cast iron pot, then combined with a blend of various types of red and rice vinegar. On top, he then delicately places slices of the best seafood from the market. From start to finish, the air is silent but comforting as every single guest intently watches the chef at work. Rather than a tense atmosphere, Sushi Nakamura is full of calming Zen. Michelin Stars: 2020 - 1 Michelin star 2021 - none
