Description
Uma Uma Gion Branch is a celebrated dining destination in the heart of Hakata Ward, Fukuoka. Known for its authentic Japanese flavors, the restaurant specializes in ramen, motsu-nabe, and izakaya-style dishes. The ramen here is particularly noteworthy, featuring a rich broth that is both flavorful and free from any unpleasant odors. Another highlight is the vinegar-motsu, a Hakata specialty that combines boiled offal with ponzu and vinegar soy sauce, offering a unique taste experience.
The restaurant also serves a variety of signature dishes such as bite-sized gyoza and torikawa, which is grilled chicken skin prepared meticulously over a week to ensure a perfect balance of flavor and texture. For those with adventurous palates, premium red basashi, or raw horse meat, is available.
Located at 1-26 Gionmachi, Hakata Ward, Uma Uma Gion Branch is easily accessible and offers a welcoming atmosphere. The second floor, once traditional tatami seating, now provides comfortable table seating, making it ideal for both casual and group dining experiences.
The restaurant's history is deeply rooted in the local culinary scene, having evolved from its predecessors, Gomajo and Sanbajo, and carrying on the taste legacy of Sanmaro, the origin of Hakata ramen. With an English menu and friendly staff, Uma Uma Gion Branch ensures a pleasant dining experience for both locals and international visitors.
