Discover Fukuoka’s peaceful coastline on this 45-kilometer e-bike tour along quiet country roads and scenic seaside paths.
The adventure wii begin at JR Hakata Station, where you will meet your guide, David, an American who has lived in the area for over 25 years. He has crafted a route that combines hidden gems, fresh local flavors, and the natural beauty of the Katsuura coast through his love for local culture, food, and cycling
After a short ride to David’s home to prepare your bikes and gear, you’ll cycle to a historic sake brewery. Step inside for a brief tour and experience the history of this century-old building.
You’ll continue through Tsuyazaki, passing sleepy fishing villages, emerald rice fields, and sparkling coastline, stopping along the way at a roadside market to try local snacks and meet longtime vendors.
The ride winds through small coastal towns to Toshimo Shrine, where you can pause in its peaceful setting. Lunch follows at a beachfront sushi bar, enjoying fresh, seasonal fish as the waves lap nearby. Later, relax at a local coffee shop with a sweet treat and freshly brewed coffee, soaking in the calm rhythm of coastal life.
Next, visit Miyajidake Shrine, surrounded by manicured gardens and shaded paths, perfect for a gentle stroll. The tour ends back at JR Hakata Station, leaving you with memories of quiet roads, ocean breezes, and the tastes of the local coast.
For an extended experience, guests can relax in David’s garden, share a home-cooked dinner, and return to the station at their leisure.

- Bikes available for this experience will be high-grade Miyata gravel electric bikes
- In the event of rainy weather, you will travel by van or taxi instead of riding a bicycle
- Please bring comfortable clothing and footwear (optional: swimwear, a small towel and a light change of clothes). A water bottle and cash for drinks and food is recommended
