Experience Details
Step into a local home in Fukuoka and experience the warmth of a Japanese temaki sushi party.
Often enjoyed at family gatherings and celebrations, temaki sushi is a fun, interactive style of sushi in which crisp nori seaweed is filled with vinegared rice and fresh ingredients, then rolled by hand.
Hosted by Yuki, a friendly English-speaking local who loves sharing Japanese culture, this experience offers a relaxed way to connect over food and conversation.
As you cook together in her home kitchen, you’ll learn the basics of making temaki sushi from scratch in an easy and approachable way.
Yuki will show you how to prepare sushi rice, the heart of Japanese sushi-making. Then, you’ll choose from ingredients like egg rolls, seafood, and fresh vegetables as you learn how to roll your own temaki sushi by hand.
The class is relaxed and easy to follow, even for first-time cooks. As you mix and match different fillings, you’ll see how fun and simple temaki sushi can be to make at home.
After around 1.5 hours of hands-on cooking, sit down together to enjoy your freshly made temaki sushi alongside three homemade side dishes.
More than just a cooking class, this experience offers a chance to share stories, learn about daily life in Japan, and enjoy a comforting home-style meal in good company.
