In this experience, you’ll learn how to make your own bento with Kyoko, a local host who has been preparing them for over eight years.

You’ll head to Kyoko’s home kitchen in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, a quiet residential area less than an hour from central Tokyo. The setting is calm and welcoming, offering a slower pace away from the city.

During the class, you’ll prepare classic bento dishes and simple home-style recipes. Your meal will include rolled onigiri, tamagoyaki, a soft and savory rolled omelet, and miso soup, a comforting staple in Japanese meals.

Kyoko will guide you step by step, from cooking to arranging your bento so it looks balanced and inviting before you sit down to enjoy it.

As you eat together, you’ll share time with Kyoko, who enjoys connecting with guests through Japanese home cooking and learning about different cultures.
