Experience Details
The art of making Japanese wagashi sweets takes patience and an in-depth understanding of traditional ingredients. With some basic skills and techniques, you can then make some amazing designs! With a highly-recognized reputation as an expert in innovative wagashi sweets, Ms. Torii Macie will guide you through this wagashi-making experience in Tokyo. She has extensive experience and expertise in making the cutest wagashi sweet designs and is the author of many books on the subject. You'll be in good hands for making the most instagrammable wagashi! This experience can be held in a beautiful Japanese garden or a traditional Japanese restaurant. At both venues, you will be immersed in a traditional Japanese setting as you learn how to make 2-3 different types of wagashi sweets. Macie will assist you along the way with essential tips and tricks for dealing with the tools and materials available. After your hands-on sweets-making session, you will be able to relax and eat your handmade sweets with an enriching cup of Japanese tea. Its bitterness will cut through the sweetness of the wagashi and complement the textures and flavors of the sweets. Feel free to take home any sweets you don't finish after the session! You can stroll through the beautiful gardens around the sweets-making area at both venues. Feel the lovely tranquillity as you soak up the traditional architecture and garden design. This makes for a lovely atmosphere during the event.
