Experience Details
Team building events offer many positive benefits for colleagues and teammates. While cooking together collaboratively, they can develop skills in time management, teamwork and communication. There’s also an opportunity to build on leadership skills during the event, express creativity, and understand diversity within teams and what it means to work cooperatively and cohesively with others.
At the venue, participants will watch an in-depth demonstration from an English-speaking instructor or with help from an interpreter on how to make different traditional Japanese sweets called wagashi. The instructor will explain different ingredients and techniques for making the sweets. Participants will then divide into teams and work together to make their own as smaller groups. Using ingredients and tools prepared in advance, teams will work collaboratively as they compete to finish with the most creative final product. Finally, teams will enjoy matcha green tea as they spend time with colleagues or teammates and eat the Japanese wagashi sweets together.
This team-building event requires team members to cooperate, manage their time carefully, and support each other as they make sweets together. With trial and error being an important part of the learning process when making sweets, employees or teammates must adjust their working styles and give encouragement to their fellow team members. With a balance of pressure and fun through the shared goal of creating sweets, this experience fosters positive connections and communication within teams with the opportunity to be creative. Naturally, a sense of shared responsibility and mutual understanding can be developed among team members as they get to know each other and build working relationships.
Suitable for groups between 30 and 1000 people, this sweets-making team-building experience is perfect for large groups of teammates or corporate employee groups.
