Step into a side of Nagoya where food, tradition, and everyday culture come together in one memorable experience.


Dress in a beautiful kimono, learn to prepare a comforting Japanese home-style meal, and discover the customs that make dining in Japan feel so special.


Your experience begins with a kimono dressing session led by certified stylist Michiko. With her help, you’ll wear a beautiful kimono along with a tasuki sash and a traditional apron. Even first-time guests can relax and enjoy the experience as Michiko guides you through each step with care.


Once dressed, head to the kitchen with Yuko, your English-speaking cooking instructor and host. Together, you’ll prepare ichijyu sansai, a traditional Japanese meal featuring one soup and three balanced dishes.


This traditional style of dining reflects the care that goes into Japanese home cooking, with comforting flavors and seasonal ingredients shared around the table.


As you cook, you’ll also learn about Japanese dining culture, from table manners to everyday customs. Along the way, enjoy a warm and relaxed atmosphere that offers a closer look at daily life in Japan.

Good To Know

  • Before the experience, please let us know your height, usual clothing size, hair color, and your kimono preferences so we can prepare the perfect kimono for you
  • If you have long hair, please wear it up so it doesn’t touch your neck. Hair accessories will be provided
  • If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let your host know in the “notes” section when booking
  • If you arrive late, you may not be able to participate in the entire experience. Please arrive on time for your reservation
  • For the preservation of the kimono, we kindly ask that you avoid wearing perfume. If any scent transfers, there may be a small fee for odor removal (approximately ¥5,000)
  • If you are pregnant, please inform our staff before kimono dressing. We cannot be responsible for any issues if we are not notified in advance

  • Meet the hosts at the cooking studio, which is a 3-minute walk from Nagoya Dome-mae Yada station. More information will be shared once the booking has been confirmed.

Do I need prior experience wearing a kimono?

No. Michiko, a certified kimono stylist, will help dress you in a kimono and guide you through the process, making it comfortable even for first-time guests.

What kind of dishes will I make during the cooking class?

You’ll prepare an ichijyu sansai meal, which includes one soup and three dishes. The menu includes tsukune (Japanese chicken meatballs), grilled seasonal vegetables marinated in dashi, tamagoyaki, onigiri and miso soup.
