Experience Details

Step into a quiet Osaka home where seasonal touches and cherry blossom ikebana set a calm, welcoming spring atmosphere.

Your host begins in a tea room decorated for sakura season, guiding you through the basics of the tea ceremony. You learn the posture, movements, and steps to prepare matcha. Whisking the tea yourself, you watch it turn smooth and bright while enjoying traditional wagashi, whose gentle sweetness balances the tea’s slight bitterness.

Once the tea session concludes, you move to the kitchen for hands-on cooking.

Your host introduces sakura-season ingredients and explains how the changing seasons shape Japanese cooking. You prepare vegetables, feeling the knife in your hand and moving with a steady rhythm.

Next, you mix sushi rice by hand with seasoned vinegar, filling the air with a gentle, sweet aroma as the grains cool and shine. Ingredients for chirashi sushi are sliced and arranged to balance color, texture, and seasonal freshness.

Tempura comes next, with your host handling the frying while pointing out the sound, timing, and texture of the batter.

As you assemble your bento, each ingredient falls into place, showing care, balance, and the essence of spring.

Surrounded by seasonal flowers and soft light, you finish with a quiet appreciation of how spring is tasted and celebrated in everyday Japanese life.
