Experience Details
Step into a quiet residential home in Osaka where a warm welcome awaits from a chef with 38 years of cooking experience.
Inside a traditional tatami room, the atmosphere is calm and intentional, with soft light, the scent of tatami, and a tokonoma alcove that frames the space with subtle elegance.
Your experience will begin with a tea ceremony, during which you will prepare matcha with traditional tools. As you whisk the tea, the powder turns into a smooth foam, and the calm, focused moment offers a gentle introduction to Japanese tea culture.
Next, you will move on to wagashi-making. You will shape three types of seasonal Japanese sweets, each carefully designed with color and form in mind.
The texture of the sweet bean paste, the softness of the dough, and the careful shaping process offer a hands-on connection to traditional craftsmanship.
Once completed, you will enjoy your wagashi alongside green tea and freshly prepared matcha.
To close the experience, the chef will present you with a handwritten calligraphy message. Created in the moment, it serves as a personal keepsake and a simple expression of encouragement and hospitality.
The setting is private and relaxed, so you can move at your own pace and enjoy each step without feeling rushed.
This experience offers a simple, hands-on way to connect with Japanese culture through tea, sweets, and quiet, thoughtful moments.
