Oimatsu Miyamoto is a celebrated destination for yakitori enthusiasts, nestled in the charming neighborhood of Nishitenma, Osaka. Known for its exquisite grilled chicken skewers, this restaurant offers a unique dining experience that combines traditional techniques with a modern twist. The culinary journey at Oimatsu Miyamoto begins with the use of premium Aizu jidori and Kuro Satsuma chicken, renowned for their rich flavors and tender texture. Signature dishes such as Chicken Breast Yukhoe, Chicken Heart with Mitsuba Miso, and Tsukune (chicken meatballs) highlight the menu. A secret sauce, aged for 60 years, adds a distinctive depth to each skewer. The chicken is expertly grilled over charcoal sourced from Toyonaga, a kiln maker in Kishu, ensuring a perfect balance of a crispy exterior and juicy interior. This meticulous attention to detail is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Located just a short walk from Oebashi Station on the Keihan Nakanoshima Line, Oimatsu Miyamoto is easily accessible for both locals and visitors. The cozy interior, adorned with washi paper, creates a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for intimate gatherings. The restaurant is run by a passionate couple who opened its doors in July 2018. Their dedication to providing a memorable dining experience is evident in every aspect, from the carefully curated menu to the personalized service. With only eight counter seats available, securing a reservation can be challenging, but the experience is well worth the effort. Oimatsu Miyamoto has been recognized as one of the top 100 yakitori spots in the West by Tabelog for several consecutive years, further cementing its reputation as a must-visit culinary gem in Osaka. The restaurant also offers a strong focus on Japanese sake, with pairings that perfectly complement the flavors of the dishes.
