京都素食餐廳

We had a wonderful time at Sushi Tempura Gion Iwai. The introductory dinner was delicious and we were well sated by the end of the evening. The two very friendly chefs were deft in their skills and, though the language barrier was there, we were able to find out what we were eating! These staff was also very friendly. One comment…. This restaurant was very difficult to find, especially as its name is not well marked, at least for those of us who do not speak Japanese. When we did find it—on the second floor of the building—we were still not sure we had the right place, again the language barrier. And until I gave them my confirmation papers, they were not sure about us either! All in all I very much recommend dining here.

The whole experience was wonderful. Staff very friendly and accommodating and the food was beautifully presented and of the highest quality.

Family run restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere- chef engaged with people in such a friendly way and the sushi was excellent- fresh and artistic.

This was such a fun experience! The food was amazing! The atmosphere was perfect. The place is very small so the service is very personalized. One of my favorite dining experiences.

overall, everything was super fresh and delicious. it was the best egg custard we had in japan! but most of all, the service was really great, from the chef’s hospitality and skill work to the staff saying goodbye at the elevator outside the restaurant. thank you team Kyoto Sushi Matsumoto! 全体的に、すべてがとても新鮮で美味しかったです。日本で食べた中で最高の卵カスタードでした！そして何よりも、シェフのおもてなしと技術、そしてレストランの外のエレベーターでスタッフの方々が見送ってくださったことまで、サービスが本当に素晴らしかったです。京都鮨松本チームの皆様、ありがとうございました！

This is a fabulous restaurant- great ingredients with wonderful preparation. Among the best!

Seriously good, authentic Japanese cuisine, met my Japanese high standard. Not those attitude “no foreigner please” restaurant. Friendly and welcoming. Waiters were rather new? And forgot to explain some items (salts dip or source dip?) but I would definitely go back.

We had Omakase today . Great service . Everyone is very nice . Fish and crab meat are fresh . Sushi chef is very nice and interactive with us . He explained every piece served to us which made Omakase experience more enjoyable. We had wonderful time . Gexin

We had such an incredible experience at this restaurant. We ordered the teppanyaki featuring Wagyu beef, and it was truly outstanding from start to finish. The Wagyu was cooked perfectly right in front of us. The entire teppanyaki experience made it even more special, watching the chef’s precision, technique, and attention to detail added a fun and memorable element to the meal. Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They made sure everything was timed perfectly and that we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We really enjoyed dining here and would highly recommend the experience.
