In this calm and welcoming space, guests are introduced to the spirit of tea through a short, ryurei-style tea ceremony, designed to feel approachable and unhurried.

Guests are guided into a quiet tea room set up for ryurei, where the ceremony is enjoyed while seated in chairs. Soft light and seasonal touches create a calm space that feels gently removed from the bustle outside.

The host gives a short introduction to Sakai’s tea culture and shares how Sen no Rikyu’s ideas still shape tea practice today. Guests are then served fresh wagashi from Sakai, chosen to complement the matcha and reflect the season. The sweetness of the confection prepares the palate, creating a gentle contrast for the tea that follows.

Matcha is prepared in front of guests using methods associated with the Omotesenke, Urasenke, and Mushakoji-senke schools. As the tea is whisked, the host explains basic etiquette in clear, simple terms, making the experience comfortable for first-time participants.
