Experience Details
Ramen is famous for its deep umami, but in Tokyo, home to more than 10,000 ramen shops, the spice possibilities are endless. This tour introduces you to two of the city’s boldest spicy ramen bowls and is guided by a passionate ramen expert who will take you on a flavorful ascent from mild heat to serious fire.
You will meet your host in Nakano, a lively neighborhood near Shinjuku known for its ramen, retro culture, and hidden local gems. From there, your adventure begins as you walk to the first ramen shop to warm up your palate with an approachable yet flavorful spicy bowl.
Your tour features two ramen stops, each offering a completely different expression of spicy ramen. Expect classics like tantanmen, a chili oil infused noodle soup with Sichuan pepper and fermented chili bean paste, or a rich and spicy miso ramen topped with meat and vegetables. The second stop brings the heat to its peak with a dramatic fiery bowl that is as fun to watch being prepared as it is to eat.
Guests who complete both bowls will receive a special certificate celebrating their achievement in spicy ramen mastery, along with insider knowledge to continue exploring Tokyo’s vast and vibrant ramen scene.
