Hiro gave us a fabulous food experience in downtown Kyoto and informative walking tour through the Gion district. The restaurants he selected for us were perfect, and met our challenging food restrictions :) He was also a great photographer and knew the perfect locations to take the perfect photo! Thank You, Hiro! You made our time in Kyoto unforgettable! Sincerely, Brian & Kristin

We enjoyed our Kyoto food tour with Hiro. In addition to delicious food, Hiro’s local knowledge of Kyoto area, culture, and traditions made our encounter very enriching. But the most memorable experiences were the conversations over dinner. Looking forward to future visits and tours of Kyoto.

Hiroshi is a fantastic tour guide. He had a great sense of humour. We had a wonderful meal and he was very open to ordering a dish that we wanted to try out. He took several group pictures at popular tourist sites. It was a treat to have so many pictures of our tour. It was nice to have someone who is local who had detailed knowledge of Kyoto. He was very informative and we learned a lot about the Japanese culture. I would recommend Hiroshi to everyone.

5+ STARS!!!!! - This was an authentic local experience that went far beyond just the food. From the very first second, our fantastic guide, Hiro, made us feel like old friends with his welcoming and confident nature. Beyond the incredible flavors we tasted, we were treated to a wealth of historical and cultural insights that made the evening truly meaningful. If you want to elevate an already great adventure, I highly recommend booking a private tour; it provides a deeper sense of presence and a more intimate connection to the experience. What a great memory. Look for Hiro if you can—you’ll start the tour with a guide and leave with a friend! Muchas gracias, Hiro!- Hasta pronto :))

Our guide Tak was great! We had so much fun walking around Kyoto and trying the different kinds of food. At the end of the tour, we asked him to direct us to a particular shop we were looking for. Not only did he take us there, he also stayed after to make sure we did not have issues with communication! Thanks for your help Tak!

Hiro went above and beyond to turn our Kyoto food tour into a one of a kind evening filled with great conversation, beautiful sites, incredible history, and unique dishes that we wouldn’t have found on our own. He took many pictures for us and even sent us several recommendations for our upcoming visits to Osaka and Okinawa. We highly recommend an evening with Hiro on your next visit to Kyoto!

Hiro made a good introduction on what we understood are some of the common foods people eat in izakayas. We tried multiple dishes, ranging from gyozas, soups, omlette with soup and rice, yakitori (charcoal grilled chicken skewers - very delicious), lightly pickled cucumbers and other dishes i can't recall their name :). Most of them were to our liking. We also had some cool drinks (e.g. a yuzu based cocktail which was light and great) as we turned down beer as we are not fans of it. After the tour, Hiro also guided us through the Gion district, Yasaka shrine + pagoda, explaining us some very interesting historical characteristics of the area, japanese culture and recommended other areas to visit. We really appreciated the effort and the fact that he extended the tour to do this kind of thing. It complemented the whole experience and took things to the next level. So if it's your first time in Kyoto and you want to learn what to eat, where to eat and where to go, Hiro's your guy! Very satisfied with his tour!

Discover Kyoto's Night Tours: A Gastronomic Journey

Kyoto, known for its serene temples and stunning gardens, transforms into a vibrant city with rich culinary journeys after sunset. If you are visiting Kyoto and wish to experience its dynamic night culture, the night tours offer exciting opportunities to do just that. These tours are not just about walking through historic streets but also indulging in Kyoto’s culinary delights, where each stop promises a taste of the unique flavors this city is renowned for.

Delve into Kyoto’s Culinary Treasures by Night

The night tours in Kyoto present an array of culinary experiences that spotlight the local delicacies which you might not find anywhere else. From classic Japanese izakayas, where you can immerse yourself in the local drinking culture while sampling a variety of small, delectable dishes, to market tours that allow you to explore and taste fresh Japanese produce. One cannot miss the famed kaiseki meals offered by select family-run establishments, combining aesthetics and taste in each exquisite course. These tours often reveal hidden and cozy sushi bars, where master chefs serve fresh, local specialties in an intimate setting.

Additionally, these night tours sometimes include tea tasting in a traditional tea house accompanied by Wagashi, a type of confectionery that perfectly balances the bitterness of the matcha tea. This offers a peaceful moment to appreciate the traditional Japanese way of tea drinking.

Embrace Kyoto’s Vibrant Nightlife

Experiencing Kyoto at night is much more than food. As part of these tours, you might find yourself exploring historic districts like Gion and Pontocho. Here, picturesque lantern-lit streets serve as backdrops to cultural experiences that go hand in hand with the culinary adventure. You might witness a traditional Geisha performance or enjoy street performances that bring energy to the night. Such experiences provide not just a taste of local food but an immersion into the culture that shapes Kyoto’s unique flavor.

Whether you are traveling alone or with company, Kyoto’s night food tours offer a perfect blend of food, culture, and history, ensuring you end your day with memorable culinary experiences that you will cherish long after your trip.
