Experience Details
Walk down any shopping street in Japan, and you'll find colorful replica foods and drinks on display at restaurants and cafes. Astonishingly appetizing and quintessentially Japanese, fake food samples are not just for businesses but also just for sheer fun.
In this replica food-making experience in Kyoto, you can make your own food replica. Comforting, distinct and original, this is yours to keep as a memory of your trip.
First, there will be a demonstration and explanation of the replica food-making process. You'll change into a kappogi apron and begin practicing wax techniques. Then, once ready, you'll move on to the real thing.
Throughout the class, you'll learn how to make food replicas to look like the real thing. After completing your creations, you can take photos with your fake food before the items are packaged like professional replicas and given to you to take back home as souvenirs.
The class is fun, relaxed and suitable for children and families! If you want to expand your creation to include both tempura and lettuce, please see the Options.
