Join a top-rated sushi-making experience in Kyoto that is fun, welcoming, and perfect for beginners.


This hands-on class is designed for food lovers of all ages, including families, couples, and first-time visitors to Japan.


Start with a short introduction to Japanese food culture and the history of sushi. Learn what makes great sushi rice and why it is the foundation of every good bite. Your friendly, English-speaking instructors guide you step by step, making the experience easy to follow and enjoyable.


Next, it’s time to get hands-on. Learn how to make nigiri and sushi rolls as you shape and assemble a total of 10 pieces. No prior experience is needed. The focus is on learning, having fun, and enjoying the process.


After cooking, sit down and enjoy the sushi you made yourself. You will also have the chance to try Japanese sake with your meal. At the end of the class, you will receive an original Sushi Master certificate as a keepsake from your experience.


The class lasts about 90 minutes and includes an introduction to sushi culture, hands-on sushi making, and time to eat and relax.

No experience is needed. All ingredients, tools, and step-by-step guidance are provided by friendly English-speaking instructors.

What will I make during the class?

You will make 9 pieces of nigiri sushi and 3 pieces of gunkan-maki using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques.

Can I eat the sushi I make?

Yes. After the hands-on session, you can enjoy the sushi you created. Guests may also try Japanese sake alongside their sushi for a full cultural experience.
