Experience Details
Step into a warm, local home in Fukuoka where cooking, conversation, and shared drinks come together in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
This is more than a cooking class; it is a chance to experience everyday Japanese hospitality through food and connection.
Your host, Yuki, is a friendly local fluent in English who enjoys traveling and meeting new people. After greeting her at a nearby meeting point, you will head to her home and settle in before learning the day's recipes. The focus is on simple izakaya-style dishes that pair naturally with sake, giving you a glimpse into casual Japanese home dining.
You will prepare four otsumami, small dishes designed to be enjoyed with drinks. The menu may include familiar izakaya favorites such as yakitori, potato salad, or dishes featuring spicy cod roe, a well-loved ingredient in Fukuoka.
Over about 1.5 hours, you will cook together with Yuki, learning easy recipes you can recreate at home.
Once everything is ready, you will sit down and enjoy your handmade meal with Yuki in a relaxed, home-like atmosphere. Alongside the food, you will taste five different kinds of sake from Kyushu, each adding its own character to the experience.
As you eat and drink together, conversation flows naturally, making it easy to feel at home even in a new city.
