But where do Fukuoka locals actually eat? Find out in this food tour guided by Hakata locals who’ll take you to explore markets and restaurants steeped in history, while sharing insights on their unique food culture. First, you’ll visit the Yanagibashi Rengo Market, a fresh seafood market often referred to as "Hakata's Kitchen" that has been a part of the city for over a century. Here, you'll scour for fresh seafood to open your appetite and enjoy fresh tempura and fried kamaboko fish cakes. Next, you'll head to Sankaku Market, a narrow street lined with restaurants. While mingling with locals, you'll enjoy a comforting bowl of udon noodles at a traditional restaurant here. To wrap up the afternoon, your last stop will be Bonet, a jazzy kissaten coffee shop where you'll get a taste of old Japan as you enjoy pudding with a steamy cup of hand-drip coffee. Experience Flow: - Meet your host at Kego Park. - Visit the Yanagibashi Rengo Market, where you'll taste seafood and freshly fried kamaboko fish cakes (you can buy a can of sake at a convenience store to enjoy with your food). - Your next stop will be the Sankaku Market, where you'll enjoy a hearty bowl of udon noodles at the renowned Inaba Udon restaurant. - Time for a coffee break at Bonet, a kissaten coffee shop with a retro ambiance where you'll indulge in its signature pudding with coffee. - Return to Kego Park and end the tour.
