But where do locals actually eat? On this food tour, Hakata guides will take you to markets and restaurants steeped in history while sharing insights into the city’s unique food culture.

Your tour begins at Yanagibashi Rengo Market, a fresh seafood market often called "Hakata's Kitchen" that has been part of the city for over a century.

Here, you’ll explore stalls filled with fresh seafood and sample tempura and fried kamaboko fish cakes.

Next, head to Sankaku Market, a narrow street lined with restaurants, and enjoy a comforting bowl of udon noodles while mingling with locals.

The afternoon ends at Bonet, a jazzy kissaten coffee shop where you can relax and enjoy a taste of old Japan with pudding and a steaming cup of hand-drip coffee.
