Geisha Performance and Private Dinner in Sapporo, Hokkaido

Images of geishas have spread worldwide, but few people have the chance to see one perform up close. This private dining experience in Sapporo combines the culinary traditions of Hokkaido with the elegance of geisha performances for an unforgettable evening of Japanese culture and cuisine. An English-speaking guide will meet you at Cocono Susukino, about 10 minutes by train from Sapporo Station, and escort you to the restaurant you selected when booking. About an hour into the meal, two geisha performers will appear, showcasing traditional dance and shamisen music. After the performance, you can learn fan dance techniques and play traditional parlor games known as ozachiki asobi. If time allows, your guide will help arrange photos and a conversation with the performers. Small groups will dine at Suginome, a Hokkaido kaiseki restaurant that has welcomed guests for over 60 years, or at Hokkai Shabu-Shabu, which offers hot pot dishes with views over the town. Larger groups of 20 or more guests can choose Kita no Aji Osuke, which features a custom cypress stage, or Otaru Bettei, which offers a spacious hall suitable for dinner parties. Groups of more than ten guests can also enjoy a lounge afterparty at the Special Club. Please enquire with the host for these options. The default restaurant is Suginome. To select another venue, use the options tab or contact the host directly when booking.
