Experience Details

Sushi is usually small and delicate, but in this Tokyo experience, you’ll turn it into something much bigger.

Step into a hands-on cooking class in Meguro and learn how to create a giant 1.5-meter-long sushi roll with the help of friendly local hosts.

This experience is designed to be interactive from start to finish. Your hosts will guide you through traditional sushi-making techniques passed down through generations, using simple kitchen tools so you can recreate the process at home.

You’ll begin by preparing the fillings, including fresh fish and avocado, and learning how sushi rice is seasoned and prepared. You’ll also work with nori, the seaweed that holds everything together.

Once everything is ready, you will layer the rice and fillings, then roll them together with your group to form a long, iconic sushi roll.

With the right technique and teamwork, the 1.5-meter-long roll will come together before your eyes.

After it is complete, the roll will be cut and served on handmade Japanese dishware, each piece created by local artists and available to view or purchase on site.

By the end of the class, you will not only enjoy your own giant sushi creation but also take home practical skills and a deeper understanding of sushi-making that you can recreate anytime.
