Experience Details
Japan's office workers (also known as salarymen) work hard and party even harder. For instance, after a long work day, they might head to a bar to relax with a few beers and end up singing their worries away with coworkers at karaoke.
For the most part, outings like these remain alien to outsiders, but this unique tour allows you to experience a night out like a salaryman. You'll go straight to the heart of the action in Shinbashi, the salaryman capital of Tokyo and a bustling district packed with bars and entertainment options, where you'll stroll the alleyways to tucked bars to enjoy drinks, light bites and karaoke with locals in authentic eateries.
After meeting your host, your evening will start at an izakaya bar, where you'll be greeted with a toast, a selection of skewers and other small dishes paired with drinks. Get to know your host and other participants and take part in interactive quizzes to test your knowledge of Japanese drinking culture.
Next, you'll take a short walk through the captivating night streets until you arrive at a Japanese snack bar. Welcoming you into this retro bar will be a hostess affectionately referred to as "Mama-san."
The bar's timeless decor and retro music will transport you to a different era, a perfect setting to play games, sing karaoke, and enjoy three drinks with snacks. In true snack bar fashion, the exact snacks are completely up to whatever Mama-san provides, so expect the unexpected!
Once the tour ends, you'll receive a special custom souvenir to remember this unforgettable experience.
This evening experience in Shinbashi is perfect if you want to enjoy a vibrant night out away from crowds and tourist traps and close to the heartfelt camaraderie that defines Japanese nightlife.

Super night out with a great host. Took us to places we would never have discovered on our own. We met and had fun with locals and a delightful mama-san. Couldn't recommend more.
