Experience Details
Ramen is loved worldwide: chewy noodles, savory broth, and flavorful toppings have made it a global favorite. But making a bowl that tastes like a restaurant’s can feel intimidating.
At Chef Odaira’s home kitchen in Ikebukuro, ramen lovers of all skill levels are welcome to learn how to make their own. Premade noodles and easy-to-use ingredients simplify the process, allowing you to focus on the fun part, which is enjoying hot, flavorful ramen.
The class also includes handmade gyoza. You’ll learn to fill, seal, and pan-fry these dumplings to crispy perfection, just like at a traditional izakaya.
Chef Odaira has over ten years of experience working at a Kappo restaurant. He now shares his passion for cooking through hands-on lessons. He also teaches individuals with disabilities, helping them gain confidence and independence in the kitchen.
Along the way, you’ll learn cultural insights, like the importance of dashi in Japanese cooking and how to use it to enhance flavors. An English-speaking guide ensures clear communication throughout the class.
By the end, you’ll enjoy your own ramen and gyoza, arranged to your liking, and receive a copy of the recipes to recreate the dishes at home. This class is a perfect mix of learning, culture, and delicious homemade Japanese food.
