Experience Details
Kamakura is a charming seaside city just an hour from Tokyo.
Dotted with historic temples and framed by a pristine blue coastline, it is the perfect place to escape the city’s hustle, explore centuries-old landmarks, and enjoy lush scenery.
On this half-day private tour, you will experience the best of Kamakura with an experienced local guide. The day begins at JR Kita-Kamakura Station, where you’ll meet your guide and stop by a local cafe for a drink and pastry.
You’ll then walk up to Genjiyama Park, listening to the chirping of birds and taking in sweeping views of the city. After your climb, enjoy a coffee break and relax amid the park’s natural beauty.
Next, you will visit Koutokuin Temple, home to Kamakura’s Great Buddha, or Daibutsu. This impressive bronze statue, cast over seven centuries ago, is one of Japan’s three major Buddha statues. Walk the temple grounds and soak in the serene atmosphere of one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Lunch will follow at a local restaurant near the temple, giving you a chance to taste regional flavors. Afterward, take a scenic ride on the Enoshima Dentetsu Line train, which famously appeared in the anime series Slam Dunk, traveling from Hase Station to Wadatsuka Station.
End the tour with tea and traditional wagashi sweets at a Japanese tea house before making your way to Kamakura Station.
This private tour blends sightseeing, nature, local food, and culture, offering a rich and memorable half-day in Kamakura.
